Build Back Fundraiser for Steve Beene

18 Mar

When : Monday April 4th, 2022 at 7pm

Where : The Plaza Theatre, 521 W State Street Garland ,Tx 75040

Hello friends –

On February 5th, Steve Beene, an indispensable and beloved member of the DFW theatre community, returned home from lunch with friends to find his home burning. Steve not only lost his home, but tragically lost his long time friend and roommate, Larry Meade, to the fire. Now Steve needs our help.

We are partnering with Shane Peterman and Patty Granville for a benefit concert raising funds to help get Steve back on his feet.

Over the course of more than 100 productions, Steve Beene has guided and loved his fellow performers through difficulties and triumphs and seen many of his “kids” go on to successful careers on Broadway. Please join us as we celebrate Steve and his legacy in the theatre community, and return some of the support he has so generously given through the years.

Brian Gonzales will be hosting the evening with a live band and special appearances from several of Steve’s kids. Tickets will be a minimum donation of $25 (No Maximum!) collected at the door.

You Can Help: Go Fund Me for Marianne Galloway

13 Sep

Hi everyone!

Gideon’s Feet is raising money to support Marianne Galloway and her sweet family. Here’s the quick, bottom line version of events:

Marianne’s house had major flood damage due to snowmageddon which lead to the discovery of a myriad of different issues that needed to be handled. While working on house demo, Marianne was exposed to mold and now is greatly affected by mold toxicity.

She has also been diagnosed with probable MS and has gone in 2 months from the amazing, hammer wielding house demo goddess to an amazing , wise cracking, wheelchair bound goddess. There are treatments that she needs, but the cost is quite high…like black market kidney cost high…so…WE CAN HELP!!!

I know this time has been hard for so many of us financially but if we all help, even a little, we can make a HUGE difference in the life of this family. Thank you for giving and sharing. To know Marianne is to love her. She is so giving, and so amazingly creative and fun. Let’s give back!!

Attention DFW Freelancers!!

Thanks to some very generous donors Gideon’s Feet is able to offer 12 $500 grants for local freelance artists.

The application is available on the tab above marked Help and Hope. Applications will be accepted until Dec. 3 and grants will be distributed on a first come first served basis once eligibility is established.

We hope this helps make the holidays a little merrier for those hit hard be the lack of arts opportunities.

Hey guys!! SO the Gala was a blast, as always, and we raised a good amount towards our mission. Thank you to all who attended and donated. Remember, you can donate here on our website anytime!

Here’s what were up to now.

We just finished a successful GoFundMe campaign for 17 year old DFW actor, Kellen Miller, who was loosing his eyesight. You guys raised more than enough to cover his surgery, medications, special contacts and lodgings for his folks during his surgery in Dallas. I’m so proud to be a small part of helping him.

Here’s what we’re doing now!!

Mark Silverbeg and May Ehlinger need help. Mark has been battling cancer for 5 years and Mary has battled cancer in that time as well. They need some support for medical expenses. Here’s their story and the gofundme we’ve started for them. If you can help, please do and please share their story. That helps so much too!
